Spectral files a third patent on RTL spectral entropy test insertion

Spectral is filing a third patent, this one covering test point insertion at the register-transfer level using spectral entropy.

The application extends the spectral and information-theoretic method behind Spectral's earlier patents to RTL, ahead of gate-level synthesis. It is the same mathematics described on our Technology page: entropy to measure how much information flows through a design's flip-flops, combined with spectral analysis of signal activity.

This is the algorithmic foundation of the RTL TPI product Spectral is developing, and the subject of the paper accepted into ITC 2026.
